Marstijepović Đurđić: The Finnish model is necessary for the Montenegrin education system

An example of a good education is the Finnish model, and as such one of the best that provides students with personalized, interdisciplinary knowledge that can be applied in all corners of the world, said Nada Marstijepović Đurđić, a candidate for deputy of the coalition "Yes. We can for a civil Montenegro" in the parliamentary elections on 11. April.

As this coalition states in its announcement, it believes that such a model is necessary for the Montenegrin education system:

"Which has become so ruined that it is a priority of every future government, because the education and upbringing of future generations have no price," added Marstijepović Đurđić.

She added that the Finnish model is determined by six principles.

"Preparing students for success in an unknown future through the acquisition of skills such as creativity, teamwork and critical thinking through teaching in various subjects.

Giving a broad meaning to learning through connecting knowledge from different subjects with the goals of sustainable development, how they can apply knowledge from the classroom in the real world.

Connecting knowledge from different subjects into one whole, and selflessly sharing their own learning with friends, teachers and parents.

Adopting the competences of modern education by turning them into practical learning competences that are applicable in different contexts.

Learning designed according to the measure of each student, enables development in accordance with their own rhythm. Students' wishes, needs and affinities are placed at the center of learning.

Students holistically approach physical, mental and emotional well-being through careful integration of academic learning. Such an approach helps students to reduce stress and increase their potential for learning at all times," explained Marstijepović Đurđić.

He says that the culture of education inherits serious values.

"Like multiculturalism, secularism, which as educational components create all the prerequisites for preserving the values ​​inherited by all peoples and nationalities in Montenegro", concluded Marstijepović Đurđić.
