I will be the voice of Bokelj in the Government of Montenegro, and Boka will be decided in Boka, said Dejan Vukšić, the holder of the "People's Coalition - Složno i dočka" list in the parliamentary elections on June 11.
As this coalition states in the press release, he said this during a tour of the municipalities of Kotor and Tivat, where he presented the program and vision of the People's Coalition.
"Boka, like the north of Montenegro, is, unfortunately, infrastructurally devastated. It takes hours to travel through Boka. This speaks best of the state's relationship with the Bokels. We will advocate for greater decentralization of government and proper allocation of funds throughout the territory of Montenegro, including Boka. Also, the Kotor Naval Fleet was destroyed, and it used to have over 40 ocean-going ships in its possession," said Vukšić.
He added that Boka will get an authentic representative through the People's Coalition and him personally.
"Who will strongly fight for its economic development, but also for all its historical, cultural and spiritual peculiarities," he says.
Maja Mršulja, candidate for MP and president of the Kotor Municipality Assembly, says that "for years, the former government took and stole from Boka and Kotor".
"They systematically destroyed large enterprises such as Jugoceania, Jugopetrol, Ljekobilj, Henkel Riviera and numerous others. Kotor, as one of the oldest cities in Montenegro, which houses more than 60 percent of the cultural and historical heritage of Montenegro, does not have the status of a city. People's Coalition will advocate that Kotor be restored to the status of a city, which by all means belongs to it," she stated.
The announcement also states that as part of the visit, representatives of the People's Coalition visited Miholjska Prevlaka, where Vukšić said that it is always the most difficult to speak in his place, his town, in his Boka.
"It is not by chance that we are here today on the Miholjska pass. It was from this place that the magnificent processions started, from this place the fight for freedom started. This place was an example to the whole of Montenegro of how to defend sanctuaries and how to defend freedom. We must never forget the time when the DPS surrounded this holy place in all possible ways, even with patrol boats, and tried to show everyone else how they would be treated if they tried to stand up to their aggression," he said.
He reminded that at that time he was a lawyer representing the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral.
"And together with all citizens, I defended freedom with all my might, knowing what awaits us in the time ahead. Therefore, we must never forget what we went through and how we defended our freedom," Vukšić added.
Candidate for MP Marko Milačić says that where else would the People's Coalition be than at the place where the people gathered and defended the people in, as he emphasized, magnificent rallies.
"It all started from here. This is not just a baptismal font, this baptismal font has become a beacon of our people, a beacon of Montenegro, a just Montenegro, a Montenegro that keeps to itself and does not give in to itself. That is why we are infinitely proud to be here today to the place where we gathered, to gather again, and especially because our People's Coalition is performing under the slogan 'One and the same.' , but right here on the Miholjska isthmus, which is the foundation of our statehood from St. Sava to the present day. From here, from the Miholjska isthmus, we want to tell all the citizens of Boka, and the whole of Montenegro, to have a clean, honest, honest story in the People's Coalition. which is more important to us today than ever," says Milačić.
If we had agreed after 2020, he says, today we would not be talking about the remains of DPS at all.
"But we are talking about irresponsible politicians, unprincipled coalitions, insincere politicians. While they were disuniting and dividing, we decided to unite, to agree, to come to an agreement, to reconcile and to gather our people for the benefit of the Serbian people, but also the whole of Montenegro. That's why from here, in front of the Miholjska baptistery, our lighthouse, I invite all Bokelje, all citizens of Boka, but also the whole of Montenegro to be with the People's Coalition and to go to the polls on June 11, in unison and period", concluded is Milacic.
