The Yugoslav Communist Party of Montenegro (JKP CG) announced today that it will support the Europe Now Movement! (PES) in the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for Sunday, June 11, PES announced.
"This support comes as a result of the recognition of the PES program as the first and most realistic development program in the past three decades, which aims to restore dignity to workers and their families," the announcement states.
PES added that the PUC of Montenegro made the decision to support PES after a thorough analysis of their program and the promises they made to the workers, but also to all other citizens of Montenegro.
"PES, announced from PUK, managed to stand out as a political force that fights for the fair distribution of wealth, the provision of fair working conditions and the strengthening of social security. It is a program that has the potential to change the lives of ordinary people, provide decent wages and working conditions, as well as a better future for all citizens of our country," the announcement reads.
PES said that the parliamentary elections on June 11 will be an important moment for the political scene in the country because they will determine the direction of development of the entire society for a long period of time.
"Therefore, the PUC's support for PES comes as a logical consequence of the announced Europe Now 2 program, which was designed to improve economic growth and social justice. The PUC of Montenegro is very pleased that the issue of workers' dignity and social justice are becoming key topics in the political discourse , and the PUK's support for the PES indicates the importance of these issues in the eyes of the voters. That is why the PUC of Montenegro believes that the broad support that the PES and its leader, the future Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, are receiving these days will further mobilize the labor base and attract the attention of all other groups that share similar ideals and expectations," said PES.
PES said that they thanked the PUC of Montenegro for their support, and expressed their belief that joint work will improve the position of workers and their families, as well as the entire Montenegrin society.
