Ministers of Foreign and European Affairs Srđan Darmanović and Aleksandar Andrija Pejović will be in Slovenia tomorrow, where they will discuss the future of European integration with colleagues from the region and the European Union.
They will participate in the Bled Strategic Forum (BSF).
Darmanović will speak on the panel "Western Balkans: EU Enlargement - Is the game called pretending?", where the participants should discuss whether there really is a will on the part of Brussels and the countries of the region for it.
The European Commission, for example, will not publish reports on the progress of the candidate countries this year, and at the end of last year no conclusions were reached on enlargement. "Such inaction could easily be interpreted as a reflection of the EU's lack of interest in continuing the dynamics of enlargement," the panel announced.
On the other hand, the countries of the region are not inclined to implement agreements with the EU. "This could be a consequence of damaged relations in the region, the internal political situation in individual countries, the situation in the EU and the slow pace of the enlargement process," the announcement reads.
On the same day, Pejović will participate in the "EU in a changed world" panel.
He will discuss with the interlocutors whether the EU can consolidate internally and be a bastion of multilateralism and free trade on a global level.
