Montenegro and the United Kingdom share the same values and goals, and particularly strong cooperation was achieved in the area of the rule of law, it was assessed in the conversation between Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and British Ambassador Karen Maddox.
As announced by the Government, Abazović received Madox on a farewell visit and thanked her for her dedicated work on the realization of numerous activities that were in the service of improving cooperation between the two countries.
"He assessed the support provided to Montenegro in the field of the rule of law and the fight against organized crime, especially the prevention of cigarette smuggling, as particularly important," the statement said.
It is added that Abazović welcomed the continuous and substantial cooperation in the field of cyber security, which, as he said, will be further strengthened through the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March.
Maddox thanked Abazović for the support provided by the Government of Montenegro to numerous British initiatives.
"She pointed out that the two countries share the same values and goals, and agreed that especially strong cooperation was achieved in the area of rule of law, as well as on the plan to strengthen the cyber capacity of Montenegro," the statement said.
The interlocutors, as stated, exchanged opinions on the importance of regional cooperation, with the assessment that Montenegro can provide an important contribution in that field.
