The president of the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI), Adrijan Vuksanović, said after today's conversation with the president of the Europe Now Movement (PES) and the most likely candidate for government mandate, Milojko Spajić, that the negotiations on the formation of the government took place "in a good spirit".
"We are satisfied with the content of today's conversation. We believe that the negotiation process should continue. We need to form a government that will lead the country forward," Vuksanović told reporters after the meeting.
Asked if HGI will be part of the government, he replied: "It is a very serious question. After the election, we said that we will not enter the government at any cost. We talked about values and principles. We will make up our minds based on that. We will make a decision at the party bodies, when the situation crystallizes."
When asked if the principles of the PES on the formation of the government are acceptable to them, Vuksanović said that they "expressed a desire" to supplement the principles.
"We will do that by tonight - both us and the representatives of the Albanian parties. We will make a supplementary proposal in terms of the integration of minority peoples. It is crucial for us that the direction of the future government is unquestionably western," Vuksanović said.
