Abazović received the new British ambassador: Development and better standards of citizens should be at the top of the agenda

Development and a better standard of citizens must be at the top of the agenda of the current and future Government, it was concluded at the meeting between Prime Minister Dritan Abazović and the new British Ambassador to Montenegro, Don McCann.

Abazović said that the relations between Montenegro and the United Kingdom are very good and pointed to the "exceptional degree of cooperation with the British Embassy in Podgorica". He wished Ambassador McCann success in her upcoming mandate and expressed his belief that the cooperation between the British Embassy and the Government will continue at a high level, the Prime Minister's Office announced.

"The United Kingdom has made a significant contribution to the reform processes in Montenegro. Perhaps we received the greatest support in the fight against corruption and organized crime. The results we have achieved and of which we are proud are joint", said the Prime Minister.

Ambassador McCann said that she was looking forward to coming to Montenegro and expressed her belief that the United Kingdom will continue to support Montenegro's development perspective based on common values, especially in the area of ​​cooperation within NATO.

"The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the current situation in the country and the region and agreed that development and a better standard of citizens must be at the top of the agenda of this and the future Government," the announcement states.

At the meeting, it was assessed that there is room for strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of financial investigations, cyber security, combating disinformation and attracting foreign direct investments.
