In Montenegro, it is necessary to achieve political stability in order to ensure progress in reforms on the way to membership in the European Union (EU).
This was announced at the meeting of the Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Aleksandar Bogdanović and the newly appointed Ambassador of Poland to Montenegro, Andrzej Papež, in Podgorica.
As announced by the DPS, opinions were exchanged at the meeting about the political situation in the country and socio-political challenges, in the context of current developments in the region and the international community.
Bogdanović wished Papjez a successful mission and introduced him to the role and activities of the DPS in circumstances where "numerous handicaps" are observed in state politics.
"First of all, the collapse of the institutional system in all segments of society, as well as the fact that Montenegro is still far from a new government, almost three and a half months after the extraordinary parliamentary elections," said Bogdanović.
He added that the actions of political entities that participated in the government in the previous three years showed that they do not have enough capacity, knowledge and responsibility to work on fulfilling the strategic goals of Montenegro.
Bogdanović said that DPS has many times shown a constructive role both in the government and in the opposition, protecting the interests of Montenegro, its civic character and the European future.
He pointed out that the DPS will continue to guide Montenegro towards stability and full integration into the EU.
Papež said that he is convinced that active involvement in Montenegro will contribute to preserving the continuity of friendship between the two countries.
He confirmed Poland's support for Montenegro's further path towards full membership in the EU.
"With a clear recognition of the necessity of achieving political stability in order to ensure progress in reforms," the DPS press release states.
