The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) of Montenegro remains steadfast in its intention that, until all logistic-technical assumptions and formal-legal prerequisites are fulfilled, the census of population, households and apartments cannot and should not be held.
The DPS stated that the acting president of the party, Danijel Živković, and the general secretary, Aleksandar Bogdanović, had meetings and held meetings with the representatives of the Bosniak, Albanian and Croatian national community councils, the Roma and Muslim councils, and that it was jointly concluded that the list necessarily postpone.
"According to that, and based on the current socio-political environment, in which we have a government in the technical mandate of an institution that does not work at full capacity, the Presidency of the DPS presented 17 conditions that must be fulfilled in order for the upcoming process to be held. On this occasion we repeat once again that we will not agree to give up and step down under any of the 17 points presented. We remain persistent that the competent state institutions give us an answer by Monday 16.10.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX, otherwise it will be proposed to the Main Committee of the party to adopt a decision on inviting citizens Montenegro to boycott the upcoming population census," concludes the press release of the DPS Presidency.
Nikolić: Postpone the census for a time in which democracy, which is necessary for the results to be relevant, will be ensured
The successful implementation of the population census in such socio-political circumstances, which Montenegro is facing, which include the complete dysfunctionality of institutions, if we take into account the fact that the country is governed by a long-fallen government headed by a long-since dismissed prime minister, and the fact that the Parliament has not due to the fact that the head of the parliament has not been elected for all these months, and the fact that, due to the painful and martyred negotiations, it is not known when and if the new government will be formed at all, it is impossible, which further means that it must be postponed for a time in which it will be possible to provide all the democracy and objectivity that is necessary for the results to be relevant.
This was announced by DPS spokesman Miloš Nikolić.
"It is clear that in Montenegro, which is led by such and such rulers, who have shown and proven countless times so far that the state of Montenegro and its best interests are at the last place on their agenda, in fact their agenda does not recognize the protection of the state in which name and on whose account they should work and protect its state interests, on the contrary, on their agenda is the betrayal and sale of everything that is Montenegrin through humble and humiliating service to some other centers of power, which are particularly interested in nationally and religiously counting citizens. Of Montenegro, I guess they wouldn't try to make their dreams of Montenegro a part of some of their "worlds", said Nikolić.
He said that it is precisely for these and such reasons that they categorically insist on maintaining the census, regardless of all the technical and all other deficiencies that are expertly and continuously pointed out, in these and such conditions, in which there is a complete absence of any control over this process. within the framework of such a social climate, would those attackers, with awards for treason, present results that cannot be relevant if they occur in circumstances that leave a lot of room for falsifying data, and ultimately a large number of abuses that can be disastrous for civil character of Montenegro, and thereby rounded off their reckoning with Montenegro on behalf of some others who for 17 years have been bothered by the fact that Montenegro is not a country of people, but of all citizens who live in it.
"Ultimately, we unequivocally and clearly say that, if this insolence and blasphemy continues, with these insidious and vile intentions, if it does not comply with the 17 precisely set conditions, we will be forced to defend the state and its character determined by the Constitution by all means that can contribute to the meaningless of this process," Nikolić concluded.
