The director of the Directorate for Statistics (Monstat) Miroslav Pejović exclusively communicates the facts responsibly in all statements, from the aspect of profession, legal and professional work, said that institution, reacting to yesterday's statement of the acting president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Danijelo Živković.
They said that this is also the case with Pejović's statement regarding the census boycott announcement, in which he "clearly pointed out the legal obligations" and what the consequences are in case of non-compliance, Monstat also says that all the other yesterday's interpretations from DPS are incorrect.
"For the sake of the public, we once again announce that no matter how much the facts do not suit anyone, it is clear that Article 26 of the Law on the Census - Rights and Obligations of Persons Providing Information states, among other things: 'A person included in the census must participate in it, that is, to answer all questions and to give an accurate and complete answer to each question in accordance with the census methodology.' the answer is 'he doesn't want to declare'", according to Monstat.
They said that the Directorate for Statistics met all the conditions for conducting the census from November 1 to 15, and all other decisions are not up to that institution.
"For this reason, we reject with indignation all inaccurate statements and manipulations on this occasion, and only because of our responsibility to the public, we are now announcing the facts," the statement concludes.
