NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg congratulated the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Filip Ivanović, on his assumption of office, stating that he believes that Montenegro will continue to promote Euro-Atlantic values and will contribute to achieving consensus within the Alliance.
Stoltenberg said that Ivanovic begins his mandate in a crucial period for Euro-Atlantic security and the future of the Alliance, when the Russian invasion of Ukraine further emphasizes the importance of the unity of allies and a strong commitment to the implementation of the decisions from the summit in Vilnius.
"I believe that, during your mandate, Montenegro will continue to promote Euro-Atlantic democratic values and will contribute to achieving consensus within our Alliance, which has never been stronger and more united. Also, I will appreciate your support in the preparations for the NATO summit in Washington, in July of next year," the congratulatory message states.
As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Stoltenberg in his congratulatory message expressed his satisfaction that he will have the opportunity to meet Ivanovic during the NATO ministerial summit at the end of the month in Brussels.
