Montenegro stands firmly on its Euro-Atlantic path, pursuing a policy aligned with the policy of the European Union (EU), announced the Minister of Defense of Montenegro, Dragan Krapović.
The Ministry of Defense announced that Krapović met today with the Italian ambassador to Montenegro, Andrea Marcela.
The announcement adds that Krapović expressed his satisfaction with the defense cooperation with Italy so far, expressing readiness for its intensification in the coming period.
"He particularly emphasized the importance of the Air Policing mission - the protection of the airspace of Montenegro by the Air Force of the Republic of Italy, in cooperation with the Air Force of Greece, bearing in mind the fact that the protection of the integrity of the Alliance's airspace is key to the collective defense of NATO," he points out. in the announcement
The Ministry of Defense said that Krapović "emphasized the importance of educating Montenegrin cadets at prestigious military academies in Italy, where our cadets acquire valuable practical and theoretical knowledge, the implementation of which further contributes to the strengthening of national defense resources".
"Minister Krapović expressed his belief that Montenegro, as a full member, will remain committed to strongly contributing to the strengthening of collective security within the NATO alliance, with a special emphasis on cyber security, and the need to pool capacities in the field of cyber protection, in order to respond in a timely manner daily challenges that represent a permanent danger to collective security," the announcement reads.
The Ministry of Defense stated that Marsela congratulated Krapović on his appointment as the Minister of Defense of Montenegro, expressing satisfaction with the results achieved in the field of defense cooperation between the two countries.
"The ambassador stressed that the cooperation between the two ministries not only improves relations between two friendly countries, but also contributes to the collective efforts of the Alliance to face the security challenges of modern society," the statement concluded.
