Acting President of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Danijel Živković said that after the preparation of the technical documentation for the software, the last condition from the agreement on the census has been fulfilled and it can start tomorrow.
He said at the press conference that the control mechanisms imply that the opposition will have two representatives in the census commissions in 25 municipalities in Montenegro, and less numerous peoples will also have representatives.
"In addition, enumerators and instructors were re-elected on a parity basis. Today we also received the official position of the Commission, headed by a representative of the opposition, on the development of technical documentation for the software, on the basis of which citizens will be able to check everything that has been entered in the database, and what they gave as their statement to the enumerators and what was entered on the census," Živković pointed out.
He reminded that a Committee was formed in the Assembly that will deal with the complete process of conducting the census, and it also includes representatives of the opposition on a parity basis.
Živković said that the possibility of manual counting of data on nation, religion and language is provided, where a representative sample of three percent, after counting that data, will see if everything that was collected from the field matches, at the same time in the software for input and data processing.
He pointed out that the census was a complex and demanding issue, and not a statistical category, as was announced at the very beginning.
He pointed out that DPS did not come to these results alone, but in cooperation with the rest of the opposition, representatives of the NGO sector and some intellectuals, stressing that with good, synchronized energy they managed to provide control mechanisms that will enable them to monitor what is happening on the ground. .
"If any irregularity is noticed, we can react at any moment and stop the census process," said Živković.
He called on citizens to report to the representatives of the opposition in the census commissions or the DPS legal team that was formed, if they notice any irregularities or if they see that there are pressures on the ground.
He said that he will declare himself on the census as a Montenegrin who speaks the Montenegrin language.
MP and vice-president of the DPS Ivan Vuković, answering the questions of journalists about how he views the interference of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church in the census process, said that the policy of destruction towards the citizens of Montenegro and its European path is reaching its peak these days from Belgrade.
"In a way that is extremely inappropriate in relation to two independent, internationally recognized states, Vučić is not the only one who gives himself the right to comment on the internal affairs of Montenegro and to project some results and even goes so far as to question what is constitutional character of Montenegro", said Vuković.
He said that it is indicative how Vučić and Patriarch Porfirije commented on the census.
