The Center for Civic Education (CGE) called on the Government and the Assembly to prioritize the adoption of the three agreements from the Berlin Process once again on the agenda, in order to complete the procedure for their entry into force.
These are proposals for laws on the confirmation of: the Agreement on freedom of movement in the Western Balkans with an identity card; Agreement on the recognition of professional qualifications for doctors of medicine, doctors of dentistry and architects in the context of the Central European Agreement on Free Trade; Agreement on the recognition of qualifications in the field of higher education in the Western Balkans.
"We remind you that, like the other laws that were adopted by the dissolved convocation of the Assembly, the president did not sign them. It is worrying that the new Government and the Assembly, with all their rhetorical support for speeding up the process of European integration, are forgetting about these important documents," the announcement states.
CGE indicates that the ratification of these agreements brings concrete benefits for all citizens of Montenegro in the context of travel, education and employment. Therefore, they say, it is undoubtedly in the public interest that they be available to citizens as soon as possible.
