The following increase in minimum pensions is the first step of the "Europe Now 2" program, which will be fully implemented, as promised to the citizens.

This was announced by Seid Hadžić, an MP from the list of the Europe Now Movement (PES) and a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy, Finance and Budget.

He said that he understands "all the political games we hear these days", but that we need to talk "about the facts".

"Inaccurate statements and the spread of noise will be denied with actions, because we did not take power for the sake of power, but to help our citizens reach a standard of living worthy of a person in the European Union (EU). Beautiful things are happening these days in the country, Montenegro is every day closer to Europe in all fields. The changes have continued, this is a moment for celebration and joy because we are correcting injustices and enabling a dignified life for the most vulnerable," Hadžić pointed out.

He states that the new government started "from the most vulnerable category - pensioners", and thus creates "an equal social balance between citizens who have given a lot to this country".

"And we are finally correcting that injustice. In Montenegro, we will have the lowest equalized amount for retirement in Europe. The growth of the minimum pension from January 2024 will be an incredible 52 percent. This measure covers 74 thousand pensioners, namely those who received the minimum pension, and another group of beneficiaries who receive a pension in the interval from the current lowest to the new amount of the pension that will be determined by the bill," Hadžić announced.

He claims that an agreement has been reached with all social partners and that the age limit (for men and women) for retirement at 65 has been equalized.

"Which is the minimum amount in Europe. Let's take as an example Luxembourg, where the age limit is equal to 65 years or Germany, where the age limit is equal to 65 years and 11 months. I would like to note that this is the most vulnerable category of our citizens. We want to provide them with a dignified old age because they built this country and they deserve it. Also, it is important to note that the state will not take on debt due to the increase of the minimum pension, but will provide the funds from its own sources, and we will still have a debate and discussion on the topic of the budget," concluded Hadžić. .
