The coordination team chose Vuk Iković as the main coordinator of Preokret, who presented the results of the direct internal elections and the new visual identity at the convention in Podgorica on Sunday.
Srđan Perić, who led the electoral list of Preokreta in the parliamentary elections, did not run for office.
In the internal elections, as announced, six coordinators were elected: biologist Vuk Iković (program coordinator), economist Mirza Krnić (logistics coordinator), entrepreneur Mirko Perović (media and creative coordinator), political scientist Nemanja Draganić (infrastructure coordinator ), economist Fikret Kuč (coordinator for international cooperation) and professor of literature Srđan Perić (coordinator of the Turnaround Council).
The coordination team also includes political scientist Andrijana Radović, lawyer Vera Banović, manager Darko Zarubica and civil activist Dino Ramović.
Perić, opening the meeting, said that Preokret managed to gain recognition on the political scene in the previous period, that in the local elections in Danilovgrad, parliamentary status was achieved, while in the national elections in Podgorica, the result was doubled compared to the local elections.
However, he stated, the goal for the period in which he led the Preokreta electoral list was not achieved - the state parliamentary status was not achieved and for that reason he takes responsibility for the election result and did not run for the position of chief coordinator. "In the coming period, he will coordinate the Turnover Council and actively work on the further development of the idea and organization of Turnover," the announcement states.
Iković, who was chosen by the coordination team as the main coordinator, presented the new visual identity of Preokret, highlighted the main directions of action and called on citizens to political activism, "so that Montenegro is led by the best of us." Good politics, as he stated, "just prepares people to realize their own possibilities", and bad politics prepares them "for obedience and party adaptation or prepares them to leave the homeland".
"Therefore, if an active and concerned citizen deprives himself of the right to engage in politics, then he is actually leaving our society to the worst of us. And if everyone gives, as much as they can, then progress is there, one step away from us because we directed our energy towards the same goal. I'm not talking about fiction or science fiction, but about things that are possible for Montenegro, which has the same population as an average European city," concluded Iković.
The development of Preokret's infrastructure was announced, which "will be accompanied by innovative models of involving people", the establishment of new branches in the cities of Montenegro, and in 12 months new elections for the leadership of Preokret with a four-year mandate will be held, the announcement concludes.
