The club of councilors of the Croatian Civic Initiative (HGI) in the Tivat Municipality Assembly demanded the personal, moral and professional responsibility of the head of the city and the local Tourist Organization due to the scandal with the singing of the songs of Baja Mali Knindža as part of the official New Year's program organized on the city's waterfront and the Pine promenade in Tivat. organization and Municipality of Tivat.
The fact that these songs were heard on Catholic Christmas, December 25, and Tivat is the city with the largest number of Croats in Montenegro, gave special weight to it.
Because of this, the defender of the Bokeš Forum, Sandra Sidnik, left the assembly hall today before the start of the regular session of the SO, where, among other things, the budget of the Municipality for 2024 was supposed to be adopted.
After leaving the assembly hall by the only BF councilwoman, the ruling coalition was left without a supermajority, which the opposition parties DPS, SD, SDP, LP and HGI used to have their councilors also leave the session, so the parliament was left without a quorum for work.
After that, the HGI announced that at the beginning of the constitution of the current convocation of the local parliament, that party pointed out "irregularities that are not in accordance with the regulations, as well as those in subsequent sessions, which is confirmed from session to session".
"Today's session and the previous meetings of the parliamentary committees are on that track, and at which, aware of the importance, we had the intention to contribute through a constructive oppositional discussion and point out the failures and anomalies of the authorities, i.e. the leading people of the city and organizations. As one of the organizational failures, we highlight and the night before last night's quasi-singing performance of more than inappropriate expression for any other day of the year, let alone Christmas. Although we have already announced this occasion, we certainly want to add that not only the performance, but also the accompanying color of mocking and insulting the customs of the local autochthonous population serves the honor of no well-intentioned citizen of Tivat," announced the Club of HGI Councilors in SO Tivat.
From that party, they pointed out that "regardless of the fact that the director of TOT stated in her media statements that there was no evil intention, we cannot and must not be satisfied with apologies and a conciliatory tone, but we demand responsibility - personal, moral and professional of all those who are involved in the maintenance of the mentioned manifestations".
"At the same time, we are thinking of the head of the city and the Assembly of TOT and the executive board, who, bearing in mind their experience in organizing such programs, had to do business more wisely and know with whom they are entering into such arrangements, and with their responsibility we insist on the termination of the contract with tenants involved in this 'joint' story of a recognizable handwriting of similar events from before," HGI said.
They said that they, as a "constructive opposition, which partially supported several important decisions for the citizens of Tivat in this convocation, we have every right to respect the current government that it is their position to ensure the stability of the government in order to avoid similar situations and conditions to those of the previous convening".
"We are witnessing the repetition of the mistakes of such coalition authorities. We note that the responsibility lies only with them, and the consequences for all the citizens of Tivat", concludes the reaction of the Club of Councilors HGI to the events in the Municipal Council of Tivat.
