The government and the parliamentary majority accepted the proposal of Social Democrats (SD) vice-president Boris Mugoša, that amendments to the Law on Social and Child Protection provide for an increase in the amount of material benefits such as family material security (MOP) and other people's care.

SD said that the Government and the parliamentary majority accepted the proposals related to the budget for the next year submitted by Mugoša.

"The proposal of Mugoša that the Government, through amendments to the Law on Social and Child Protection, envisages an increase in the amount of certain material benefits (MOP, third-party care and others) was accepted," says the announcement.

As it is added, the proposal was also accepted to charge the Government to carry out the necessary activities in the direction of developing strategies for demographic development and the fight against poverty, as well as in the direction of realizing free transportation for students and free snacks for children from socially vulnerable categories.

Mugoša stated that he proposed that funds for the implementation of these activities be provided not through additional problems but through the rationalization of certain budget expenditures - work contracts, expenditures for administrative material and consulting services.

"The proposal of Mugoša, which refers to the correction of injustice against the only category of health workers who have completed appropriate integrated academic studies in the health profession - pharmacists, was also adopted," the announcement says.

As it is added, that profession was not included in the Law on Salaries of Employees in the Public Sector, thus the value of the coefficient of their earnings remained at a much lower level compared to other categories of health workers that were included in the aforementioned Law.

The social democrats stated that the Government is responsible for, through amendments to the Law on Salaries of Public Sector Employees, to include pharmacists in the Law and define the value of their salary coefficient in a fair and adequate manner.

"Finally, in order to continuously monitor the dynamics of the implementation of capital projects, Mugoša's proposal was accepted that the Government should report quarterly to the Assembly on the degree of execution and activities carried out on the implementation of the capital budget defined by the Law on the Budget of Montenegro for the following year", it is concluded in announcement.
