Montenegro is fully committed to fulfilling the conditions for membership in the European Union (EU), announced the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić.
The Government announced that Spajić is participating in the 54th annual session of the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he spoke today on a panel called "The Business Case for EU Enlargement".
"The process of integration is a cohesive factor in our society, and we view integration into the European Union in the context of deep economic integration that will enable the transformation of our economy and significantly improve the quality of life of our citizens," he pointed out.
Spajić added that the Government is committed to preserving political stability, continuing constructive and inclusive dialogue and implementing key economic policies, and on that line the Growth Plan as a line of support from the European Union is of great importance for the continuation of overall reforms.
"We are determined to build responsible, independent and transparent institutions," he said.
Looking at the economic and financial situation, the Prime Minister assessed that Montenegro is largely ready for membership and that the Government is determined to fulfill all requirements from the integration process as soon as possible in order for Montenegro to become the first next member of the European Union.
