We have to leave the political issues of division aside in order to devote ourselves to development, announced the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić.
The Government announced that Spajić is participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he had about 50 meetings with statesmen, representatives of world-famous corporations, universities and think-tank organizations, and together with leaders from the region and representatives of the European Union, he also participated in a panel. Diplomatic dialogues on the Western Balkans", where he presented the perspectives of Montenegro in the context of further integration.
"Infrastructural connection and economic cooperation are the only correct path for the countries of the Western Balkans. It is the direction that leads to the European Union. We must leave the political topics of division aside in order to devote ourselves to development. If we stick to that course, the standard of citizens and membership will come as a result," said Spajić.
The Government announcement states that Spajić presented the development plan of Montenegro, which, as announced, includes strengthening the traffic network, developing the economy and strengthening citizens' standards through a series of reform processes.
"For progress, we need brave decisions and determined individuals, ready to bring the process of integration into the European Union to an end. There must be no more compromises with that in Montenegro," Spajić said.
In addition to Spajić and the leaders of the Western Balkans, the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the special representative of the European Union for dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajčak, as well as the foreign ministers of Norway, Austria, Slovenia and Ukraine spoke on the panel.
