The President of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević said that a serious crisis regarding the delimitation of Zeta and the Capital City could culminate in the dissolution of the coalition.
He called on the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, to get involved in solving this problem.
He appealed to the Europe Now Movement (PES) to talk to the mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac, in order to find a compromise model.
"If there is no such model, the DNP will leave power in Podgorica, and our partners will probably join in," he said at a press conference at a press conference on the delimitation of Zeta and the capital in the Parliament of Montenegro.
He said that if this treatment of Zeta continues, the DNP will reconsider the coalition at the state level as well.
The President of the Zeta Municipal Assembly, Nebojša Domazetović, said at the same press conference that Zeta has been devastated for years, and that the capital is now closing down part of the Dajbaba settlement and is looking for more locations from the Zeta area, in order to valorize them.
"Gentlemen, do not test the patience of the citizens of Zeta, because you will receive an adequate response," he said.
Domazetović called on the leaders of the city and the Government to get involved in the process of fair distribution of property between Zeta and POdgorica.
President of the Municipality of Zeta Mihailo Asanović (DNP) asked why the City does not respect the laws and why they asked for the opinion of the relevant Ministry, when they do not respect it.
"They want to build a collector and take everything valuable to Zeta," he said.
Asanović said that they made dozens of contacts with numerous companies, two of which - "Lidl" and "Nelt" - submitted letters of intent to do business in Zeta.
He warned the City to stop challenging the Zeta development, stating that this was his last peaceful appeal.
Knežević said that if Spajić does not get involved in solving the problem, there will be a crisis of power in Podgorica starting next month.
He explained that the possible blockade that they are announcing implies that in Podgorica, not in Zeta, they block the boulevards and that they block the water source on the territory of Zeta.
Knežević said that the owner of the company "Voli" Dragan Bokan does not like "Lidl" and "Nelt" coming to Zeta.
"If he became an important factor in the capital, we will not be part of that story," said Knežević.
He said that he expects the prime minister to get involved in solving this problem, because it is obvious that the mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac, "doesn't have time to hang out with Dragan Bokan and all the winners of the transition in the 1990s and the people who maintained the DPS".
"It is incomprehensible that in these 13 months the mayor did not find it necessary to talk to the president of the Municipality of Zeta, nor to find a compromise model that would satisfy the citizens of Podgorica and Zeta, but with her exclusive attitude, she is putting us in a situation where we have to withdraw certain political moves, who can and will certainly threaten the government in Podgorica," Knežević said.
Asanović said that the Municipality of Zeta requested at all meetings of the Delimitation Committee what the Government legally passed in August 2022 and clearly and decisively stated which cadastral municipalities should belong to Zeta.
"We were not satisfied with those municipalities either, and as you know, people blocked the roundabout towards the airport, because we demanded, and acted as an amendment, that Zeta should also belong to Dajbaba," said Asanović.
He said that the city authorities in Podgorica do not want to respect the decision that Zeta is an independent municipality.
"Why don't they respect the laws of the state of Montenegro, why did they ask for a statement from the Ministry of Public Administration when they won't respect it because they don't like it? The law unequivocally says that Botun and Cijevna are in the municipality of Zeta. Why do they continue with the worst possible attitude towards Zeta, that everything what's not good is left to us. They left us a pool of red mud, devastated nature, asphalt bases..." said Asanović.
