Mitar Paunović was elected as the spokesperson of Democratic Montenegro, it was announced from that party.
It is stated that the decision, based on the status of the party, was made by the head of the party, Aleksa Bečić.
It is added that the mandate of Paunovć lasts as long as the president of the party.
Paunović was born in Podgorica, he is a second-year student at the Faculty of Law of the University of Montenegro.
According to reports, he was a candidate for councilor in the Assembly of the Capital City in the local elections in Podgorica in 2022.
He was elected as a member of the Democratic Committee of the Capital City in the same year, and he is currently engaged in public relations and digital marketing in the press center of the Democrats.
At the third congress of the party, he was elected as a member of the Main Board.
As stated, Paunović has been awarded first places at national and international debate competitions several times.
Paunović is an attendee of the first Youth Parliament of the Assembly, and for years, as stated, he has been dedicated to youth activism in the field of prevention and suppression of violent extremism, through projects of the Delegation of the European Union and the non-governmental sector.
"By electing the youngest spokesperson of a party in Montenegro, the Democrats confirm their firm determination that young people should not be a decoration on the political scene, but that they should be allowed to participate directly in the creation of public policies," the statement said.
