Members of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) are united by their love for Montenegro, and only with the strength of the DPS is it possible to turn things around in the country, it was announced from the party forum in Budva.
DPS vice-president candidate Ivan Vuković said that January 28 is important for that party - the day when its members directly elect the party leadership for the first time.
He said that in five days they visited a good part of Crna.
"To point out the good things that still make DPS a superior offer on the political scene of our country, but also to admit to ourselves that some things could have been different," said Vuković, DPS announced.
According to him, the slogan of the campaign "we can do better" is no accident.
"Because we are all convinced that we can and must do better, in order to adequately recommend ourselves to our people and to the whole of Montenegro and return to the place that belongs to DPS and that Montenegro needs," said Vuković.
The candidate for the vice president of the DPS, Elvir Zvrko, said that all members of the party are united by belonging to the DPS and love for Montenegro.
"We had an "apostle" who thought he would move mountains from the position of prime minister. Then came the other one who gesticulates with his hands and fulfills boyhood dreams to the detriment of the interests of Montenegro. With their actions, they led Montenegro towards collapse", said Zvrko.
He said that only with the power of the DPS is it possible to reverse the situation in Montenegro.
"We treated the most loyal members of our party quite carelessly and we have to do better in this period, which is ahead of us," said Zvrko.
Candidate for DPS vice-president Dušan Raičević pointed out that it is a privilege and an honor for him to be in the company of friends who, as he assessed, represented the interests of the party for many years and contributed to the victories of DPS.
"What we did in the previous days was an assessment of everything we did as a party in the previous 30 years of existence. And how proud we are of all the results we have achieved as a party, because as we have always emphasized - these are historic victories", Raičević added.
He said that it is in the nature of a long period of time and numerous electoral victories that saturation occurs and that it is not clear who the real political opponents of the DPS are.
"Unfortunately, we started looking for those opponents among ourselves and we lost trust in each other. As a result of all that, it is completely natural for election defeats to occur," Raičević said.
He added that we should not talk "about how much these defeats set Montenegro back, just as they set Budva back".
"That's why our slogan is not surprising - we can do better, because we really believe that we can and must do better," said Raičević.
