The census in Kosovo, which begins on April 1, is important and will determine the position of the Montenegrin community in that country, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development of Kosovo Lazar Radulović.
The Administration for Cooperation with the Diaspora - Expatriates announced that the Acting Director of that body, Erduan Demić, met with Radulović, who is the representative of the Montenegrin community in Kosovo.
The announcement states that the main topic of discussion was the upcoming population census in Kosovo.
Radulović, as reported, emphasized the importance of the census, adding that he believes it will determine the future position of the Montenegrin community in Kosovo.
"That is the question of all questions," said Radulovic.
Demić pointed out that he is familiar with the work of Montenegrin associations in Kosovo, as well as that he is satisfied with the activities and projects they implement.
According to reports, he informed Radulović about the population census that was held in Montenegro at the end of last year.
"The census in Montenegro took place without any problems, thanks to the new Government of Montenegro headed by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. The government introduced control mechanisms that represent a novelty in the census process," said Demić.
The announcement states that at the meeting it was concluded that the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora - Expatriates will continue to support the association's activities.
The aim of the support, as stated in the announcement, is to improve the position of the Montenegrin community in Kosovo, especially in the part related to the preservation of cultural and national identity.
As it was announced, the meeting was also attended by Zoran Đukanović, Independent Advisor in the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora - Expatriates.
