The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will return to decision-making positions in Montenegro, and the focus in the coming period will be on education, health care, careful social policy, law and justice, said the candidate for president of that party, Danijel Živković.
As stated in the press release of the DPS, Živković said at the forum in Zeta that there is no development in Montenegro without the DPS in decision-making positions.
"Reorganization, conversation and understanding of the citizens, with full commitment and responsibility will ensure that we are even better and get the opportunity to develop Montenegro," said Živković.
According to him, on the basis of clearly set program solutions, with expert staff and constant work in the field, DPS will return to the decision-making and leadership positions of Montenegro towards the family of European states.
Živković said that the focus of DPS policy in the coming period will be on life issues and development.
"These are education, health care, careful social policy, sustainable economic development and law and justice," explained Živković.
He emphasized that they are not part of the generation of politicians who want to lead the country in order to achieve personal ambitions.
"We are not part of the generation of politicians who want to lead the country to achieve personal ambitions. On the contrary, it is politicking and is not the manner of behavior of DPS", said Živković, adding that Montenegro needs a serious and responsible policy.
He reminded that the DPS fulfilled its promises to the citizens of Zeta, initiated and ensured the restoration of the status of the municipality of Zeta.
With that, as he stated, the multi-year process of decentralization was completed.
"We immediately approached the citizens of Zeta with a clear development program of this municipality. However, at that moment, arrogance, ignorance and nationalism were obscured behind some quasi-ideas of salvation and freedom," said Živković.
As he added, he is sure that the citizens of Zeta clearly see that they cannot be represented by a "semi-literate group of ignoramuses".
DPS vice-president candidate Jevto Eraković assessed that Zeta was targeted as an environment under pressure from nationalism.
"An environment where they are trying to create huge differences between cultures, peoples and religions, in order to collapse civil Montenegro", said Eraković.
As he added, he is certain that Zeta soil will not be fertile for "Greater Serbian nationalism" and that these illusions will be dispelled.
Eraković said that he is aware of how difficult it is to defend Montenegro from that area.
"All that you have done for DPS in the past three and a half years should make you proud. Not only to you, but also to your families, because you managed to resist all negative ideas and attempts to collapse our country", said Eraković.
The candidate for DPS vice-president Elvir Zvrko thanked those gathered for their perseverance, determination and determination to, as he explained, follow the policy of DPS even in the previous three and a half years.
"We are connected by DPS, we are connected by Montenegro. What is characteristic of the members of our party is that we are proud and dignified wherever we are," said Zvrko.
He said that the period from 2020 is "turbulent", and that the party has gone through many trials.
"We saw a different Montenegro, but we will not get used to such a Montenegro. They are collapsing our country, they are leading it to ruin, but we are the ones who are the steel dam to all that," said Zvrko.
As he stated, he is sure that DPS will soon be the bearer of local government in Zeta, but also at the state level.
"What I have no doubt about is that the DPS will return to the paths of success it was walking before, and I am sure that it will soon be the holder of power, both at the local level in Zeta and at the national level," said Zvrko.
The candidate for DPS vice president, Aleksandra Vuković Kuč, recalled the words of the current president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
"When Vučić, opening the monument to Stefan Nemanja, said that the Serbs have the first dynasty - the Vojislavljević dynasty, he showed that he knows very well what it means to fight for the Serbian world," she said.
Vukvić Kuč added that the Vojislavljević dynasty is Montenegrin.
"Like Zeta Montenegrin, like Duklja Montenegrin," said Vuković-Kuč.
She recalled the fact that during the Second World War, 220 people from Zeta participated in the anti-fascist effort.
"Today, treason is mercenary. That's why I think that this group of people who are in the Zeta party today deserve our special attention," said Vuković.
DPS vice-president candidate Abaz Dizdarević said that it is a privilege to be in that party.
"We are comrades and comrades who have found ourselves in a storm, but I am sure that we will manage to find a way to return Montenegro to the dignified status that we lost four years ago," said Dizdarević.
The role of DPS was, as he added, to emancipate space and people.
"This is a space of honey and blood and so cyclical in a circle going back centuries. The role of our party was to emancipate this area and the people who live here," said Dizdarević.
According to him, the biggest role of the DPS is to preserve the peace.
"We often forget that it is our policy that is most deserving of preserving the civilizational scope of peace. We have been guarding it for the past four years," Dizdarević pointed out.
Candidate for DPS vice president Ivan Vuković pointed out the importance of the campaign that started in Petnjica and Berane, "and reached the central region through the north and south".
"That speaks of the change that is happening in the DPS, of the restoration of the old good practices by which our party was recognized for 25 years," Vuković said.
He assessed that the campaign was characterized by good and positive energy.
"We are greatly encouraged by what we experienced on the field. It was not a problem for us to admit mistakes, because sometimes the logic of the political process works against you," said Vuković.
He said that political opponents underestimated DPS after August 30, 2020.
"They thought that the DPS was over, and the few who had a dilemma were absolutely sure of that when Milo Đukanović stepped down from the party's leadership," said Vuković.
He said that DPS did not go down in political history.
"It's not that we didn't go down in political history, but in June we achieved a respectable result," Vuković pointed out.
That, he added, was the first warning to their political opponents.
"Today, when all of them see what our campaign looks like, when they see the full halls, when they see this energy, as well as the other day when they see the research - panic begins to reign in their ranks," Vuković said.
