Baošić: After all the slanders in the past few days, there is no possibility in which I would return the mandate to the DNP

The announcement of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) and the overall uproar and noise in the public once again clearly confirms the correctness of my decision, said Nemanja Baošić, Member of the Assembly of the Capital City.

Two days ago, he announced that, due to inconsistencies in the political views and decisions of the party's leadership in the past period, he made the decision to withdraw from the DNP and that he will continue his political engagement as an independent councilor.

Baošić emphasized that after, as he states, all the slanders in the past few days, there is no possibility in which he would return the mandate to the DNP.

"Since even today's announcement by the DNP could not pass without mentioning the name and surname of Nemanja Baošić, even in a situation where the topic is the delimitation of two municipalities. I want to point out that Nemanja Baošić is not a fugitive, but an independent councilor, and that whether or not "The DNP cannot decide on the councilor of the majority, unless someone intends to physically prevent Nemanja Baošić from taking the seat that belongs to him in the capital's Assembly hall, which, despite the aspirations of individuals, will not be changed," the announcement states.

He said that, from a political but also a human point of view, he is once again calling for a reduction in tensions, and indicates that if the slander against his personality continues, he will be forced to call a media conference where, as he says, he will speak for the last time on this topic.

"Because I absolutely believe that I have not and will not allow myself to descend to the level of primitivism and slander, but I am very determined to defend my reputation based on arguments," Baošić added.

He said that he "absolutely denies" his acquaintance with Dragan Bokan and notes that he "was physically closest to Bokan when he attended basketball games of Budućnost in the Morača Sports Center, more precisely on the stand across from the box".

"As far as corrupt actions are concerned, the only person who would have the elements to start a case against me is my father, on the account of 'property usurpation', since I still reside and live in an apartment that is registered in his name. Once again, I inform the other party that Nemanja Baošić does not have to be the focus of almost all DNP announcements, and that simply no pressure can produce results because I am fully prepared to the very end to resolutely defend what is called honor, the right to an opinion and position, truth and justice," the announcement reads.

"I hereby put an end to this topic out of respect for the huge number of people within the DNP whom I highly respect and value, of course, unless I am forced to call a press conference, which again depends at least on me personally," Baošić concluded.
