The President of the Socialist International and the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, sent a letter to the Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Aleksandar Bogdanović, in which he congratulated him on the "breakthrough internal party elections" in Montenegro, the DPS announced.
"Dear Aleksandar, respected members of the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro, I congratulate you and the Democratic Party of Socialists on the landmark internal party elections in Montenegro. This historic moment confirms your party's commitment to democratic principles and transparent political practices. The introduction of these elections marks a key step towards the democratization of the party system The fact that around 20.000 members have the right to participate emphasizes the commitment to fostering a participatory political environment," said Sanchez, as announced by the DPS.
He stated, as it is added, that the party under the new leadership will "further strengthen the movement of the left", promoting the values of solidarity, justice, freedom and equality.
"During these challenging times, having sister parties like yours that actively promote democratic values in society is critical to solving complex issues in the economic and social spheres. As fellow members of the Socialist International, our shared commitment to those principles strengthens our joint efforts. More once again, we congratulate and wish for successful elections," concluded Sánchez.
Leven: DPS will continue to pave the way for further successes and building the prosperity of Montenegrin society
The President of the Party of European Socialists, Stefan Leven, as announced by DPS, sent a letter to the headquarters of that party regarding the holding of internal party elections.
"On behalf of the Party of European Socialists, I send my heartiest congratulations on the occasion of the first intra-party elections in your party, and in Montenegro. I use the opportunity to send congratulations to the candidate for president, Danijelo Živković, as well as the candidates for vice president. I firmly believe that you will successfully respond to all challenges in the process of building a strong socialist and progressive force, which is able to resolutely shape the future of Montenegro," Leven wrote, according to DPS.
"I am sure that in the coming period, through this important political event, your party will continue to pave the way for further successes aimed at solving economic and social tasks, strengthening stability and building a prosperous Montenegrin society, and in this way help the European perspective of Montenegro. I use the opportunity to I express the readiness of the Party of European Socialists to support your efforts when it comes to progress in democratic processes in Montenegro, which strives to adopt European values and standards, as well as full membership in the European Union," Leven concluded.
