Parliamentary clubs in the Parliament of Montenegro have not yet received a proposal for a resolution on the genocide in Šahovići, which is why most of them did not want "Vijesta" to communicate their position on it.

In order to formally enter the parliamentary procedure, the resolution proposal needs to be signed by at least four deputies. The authors of the proposal are the reis of the Islamic community Rifat Fejzic and academician Sherbo Rastoder.

As the reasons for voting on the resolution, as "Vijesti" announced on Sunday, they state that 100 years ago, in peacetime conditions, a mass crime was committed against the Muslim population in the Vraneška Valley, and the reason was an ambush murder. Boško Bošković, then retired head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The resolution proposed, among other things, that the Assembly assess that the hundred-year silence about a mass crime against innocent citizens additionally obligates the condemnation of that and every similar crime...

"Vijesti" asked the largest parliamentary groups what their position was on the proposal for a resolution on the massacre in Šahovići (today's Tomaševo) and whether they would support it if it came on the agenda of the Assembly.

The ruling Europe Now Movement (PES) told "Vijesti" that they had not received the proposed resolution and that they could not comment on it for the time being. "Vijesti" received the same answer from the opposition Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and the Citizens' Movement URA.

Spokesman for the Democrats Mitar Paunović he said that the party will make a statement about the resolution when it enters the parliamentary procedure.

"I remind you that the Democrats are one of the few parties that voted for the resolutions on genocide in Srebrenica, Velica, Piva, places where the victims were people of different faiths, both Islamic and Orthodox. It was not only an act of political will, but also an expression of deep respect for people, victims and values," said Paunović to "Vijesta".

The New Serbian Democracy did not answer the questions of "Vijesti".

Member of Parliament and leader of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knezevic he said on Tuesday in an interview with TV Adria that his party will not support this resolution not because, as he says, they want to relativize or question any crime committed against the Muslim population, but because they believe that at the moment it does not contribute to reconciliation, nor the path to the EU.

According to Knežević, then at least one resolution should be passed for each century - starting from Vidovdan in 1389, and ending in 1912 and 1913, i.e. "from that tribute in blood, to the demolition of monasteries, crimes against the Orthodox population, to Islamization of the Orthodox population".

He said that he thinks that the resolution is a test for the Government Milojko Spajić.

Member of the Presidency of the Social Democrats Nihad Canović announced on Monday that he believes that a consensus will be reached in the Parliament on the content of the resolution on the crime in Šahovići.

A day earlier, the Bosniak Party told "Vijesta" that when that resolution comes on the agenda of the Assembly, they will take a position on it at the party bodies, appreciating, above all, the interest of the Bosniak people.
