The imprisoned President of the Municipality of Budva, Milo Božović, made a decision on the financing of political parties, with which he gave the green light to allocate almost 380 euros from the city coffers for the work of parties that have councilors in the parliament this year.
Božović signed the decision on the amount of budget funds for financing the regular work of political parties for 2024, which "Vijesti" had access to, on Monday, February 19, in the Spuška Investigation Prison.
Out of a total of 379.885 euros, 186.277,54 euros were allocated for the work of the "Budva first - Milo Božović - DF" coalition, which was led by the first man of Budva in the last local elections.
The coalition gathered around the DPS "Unique for Budva" will receive 100.736 euros from the budget this year, the Democrats will receive 48.666 euros, the Socialist People's Party will receive 22.102 euros, the same amount as the URA Civic Movement.
On the same day, Božović signed a decision in Spuž on the amount of funds for financing the regular work of women's organizations in political entities, which stipulated that 37.988 euros would be allocated from the budget.
The decision stipulates that each of the women's organizations within the five political entities participating in the local parliament will receive 7.597,70 euros each.
With that, Božović continued his intensive work in Spuž, where for the past ten months, after the High Court gave his consent, official documents were brought to him for signing.
The High Court also now approved the introduction of a set of documents initialed by Božović, at the very time when the same court returned the indictment against the mayor of Budva, as a member of the drug police cartel that smuggled cocaine, to the Special Prosecutor's Office for further processing.
And while Božović makes decisions, Budva is going through the most difficult political and institutional crisis. Apart from the paralyzed municipal bodies, whose functioning depends on the documents that are periodically brought to Spož for signature, the turmoil in the coalition led by Božović still does not abate, despite calls from the party headquarters in Podgorica for the conflicting factions to sit down and come to an agreement.
It remains to be seen whether the continuation of the interrupted 10th session of the Municipal Assembly will soon be scheduled, the agenda of which is the election of the Vice President of the Municipality, Jasna Dokić, the current director of Waterworks, who was proposed by Božović as his deputy at the beginning of November.
The session has been postponed three times so far, the last time on February 16, because there is no agreement among the 17 councilors of Božović's coalition to vote for Dokić.
Both sides accuse each other of being to blame for the fact that the city is paralyzed and that sessions of the Municipal Assembly cannot be held.
