The Municipal Committee of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Budva that "shortening the mandate is the only way" to get out of the political crisis in Budva.
"The now failed attempt by the OO Democrats of Budva, in which they offer the initiative to shorten the mandate only to the councilors of the ruling majority, not only represents political amateurism, but also political hypocrisy. The Democrats are certainly more invited than the parliamentary opposition to shorten the mandate, because it was they who voted to support the president of the municipality Milo Božović and the president of the assembly Nikola Jovanović, so they are somehow responsible for the circus that is currently happening in Budva. But we forgive them, because it was done for the sake of entering the government and getting a piece of the cake, but to exclude the SDP from the initiative to shorten the mandate , even though we were the first to ask for it, it is neither politically correct nor smart," reads the announcement of OO SDP Budva.
They add that the shortening of the mandate is "the only way to get out of this circus", and that with this procedure the Democrats "doomed the initiative to failure, and they will be just as guilty as the DF if the elections do not take place".
"After the precedent in the Budva parliament, where the government denied a quorum to the opposition, now the Democrats are offering the electors of the government to deny themselves confidence. If it were not sad, it would be funny. It is not at all surprising that there is such a fear of elections within the DF, because they are clear about what they are sent an image of themselves both to the citizens of Budva and to the whole of Montenegro. It is surprising that there is such an absence of concern for the city, which will face the tourist season in collapse, the success of which is of crucial importance for the financial stability of the municipality, as well as the state. Finally, we once again demand that if all political subjects come to their senses, let's jointly shorten the mandate, noting that the Budva parliament has 33 councilors, and no one has the right to judge who is more or less worthy of some parliamentary initiative," the announcement concludes.
