Most of the ruling parties yesterday did not want to comment on the resignation of the deputy president of the Europe Now Movement (PES). Jakov Milatović to all functions in the party, nor how it will affect the ruling majority, while part of the opposition warned that a crisis of power is on the horizon.
Head of the Democrats Parliamentary Club Boris Bogdanovic he said that respecting the coalition agreement has always been and will be the path to the stability of a government.
"We do not want to comment on relations and processes within other parties, our coalition partners. Respect for the Agreement we signed, respect for the coalition partners, competences and responsibilities of each member of the Government has always been and will be the path to the stability of one government", said Bogdanović to "Vijesta".
He said that the Democrats will always be on that path as they have been so far.
"We believe in the same approach of all other coalition partners, because therein lies the key assumption of the stability of the Government and the parliamentary majority," he said.
President of the Democratic Party (member of the Albanian Alliance), Fatmir Đeka he assessed that the political process in Montenegro will gain momentum with this resignation.
"The biggest responsibility is certainly on PES, that is, how they will position themselves in the coming period and respond to these challenges. For us as a national political subject, the most important thing is that Montenegro continues the process of democratization and Europeanization", said Đeka to "Vijesta".
Milatović informed the public about his resignation on Saturday via the X network.
"The current way of working is contrary to the promises and values that I had in mind when creating the Movement. For this reason, I am resigning from all positions in the Movement," wrote Milatović.
The Social Democrats (SD) assessed that Milatović's resignation was only the beginning of the long-announced and expected split of that group.
"It is obvious that even four years after the August changes of 2020, Montenegro and its society do not have the necessary political stability. We are witnessing a serious crisis of power. Milatović's resignation is just one more confirmation of the heterogeneity and incompatibility of political entities within the parliamentary majority," the SD announced.
They believe that both Milatović and Spajić are responsible in different ways for the fact that the parliamentary majority is designed in such a way that it is completely dependent on the politics of the leader of the New Serbian Democracy and the head of the parliament Andrije Mandić, and therefore "absolutely servile" to interests Aleksandar Vučić and official Belgrade.
Leader of the Social Democratic Party Ivan Vujović believes that the split in PES is a prelude to early elections.
He wrote on the X network that both currents in PES have seen a partner in Mandić so far.
"And the attitude towards him, i.e. In the future, he will show Vučić where he is," said Vujović.
Milatović and Spajić founded the Europe Now Movement in June 2022, a few months after the fall of the expert government Zdravka Krivokapića in which there were ministers (of economy and finance). Although both of them publicly denied it for a long time, the passing between them started in February last year when Spajić decided to run for the president of the country, which he failed because it was determined that he has Serbian citizenship...
After that, in April, the Main Committee (GO) of the party decided without Milatović that the party would go to the parliamentary elections independently, which Spajić advocated, and not in a wider coalition, which was Milatović's idea.
There were also disagreements during the consideration of the electoral list ahead of the parliamentary elections, and Milatović subsequently criticized the composition of the new government, the situation in the diplomatic network, the attitude towards the educators who announced the strike, and the non-extradition of the Turkish citizen from the position of the president. Ćinćur: Most of us believed that some things would be fixed
Independent member of parliament Radinka Ćinćur, who is not officially in PES since yesterday, assessed that people of integrity and principles, such as Milatović, do not want to be part of everything that happens on the political scene.
"Most of us believed, perhaps naively, that some things would be improved, that people with integrity, both professional and political, would be respected, that meritocracy would be a key factor in the selection of personnel. However, that did not happen. "Every day we hear scandals of some kind on the political scene," she told TV Vijesti, adding that Milatović's resignation was not a surprise.
Ćinćur objected to the decisions of the party bodies back in October, but she was not expelled then along with her colleague Jevrosima Pejović.
