With the demarcation between Zeta and Podgorica, based on official and documented facts, it will not be possible to build a collector on the territory of the youngest Montenegrin municipality, said the member of the Democrats in the Zeta Municipal Assembly Novica Pejović.
"As we announced to the public, in order to contribute to the demarcation process between Zeta and Podgorica, the research team of the Zeta Democrats will publish more documents. In the official archives and within the archival material, which records almost a century of existence, we find important documents that confirm the views and efforts of the Democrats when it comes to this process of demarcation," Pejović announced.
He also stated the data they obtained.
"In the publishing house of the Main Editorial Office of the Almanac of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, in 1932, the book 'General State Administration' was published, which shows the arrangement of the Banovina at that time and provides information about the counties, municipalities and cities. In the chapter: 'Zeta Banovina', on page 262, it is stated exactly the information that our citizens have been communicating all previous years. Gornjo-Zeta municipality had nine settlements, 336 homes and 2.100 inhabitants, and there were three sacred buildings on its territory. Lower-Zeta municipality spread over a territory of 10.235 hectares, had 12 settlements with 990 homes and 7.000 inhabitants. Mataguška municipality spread over a territory of 4.500 hectares, it had six settlements with 276 homes and 1.488 inhabitants," said Pejović.
It can be clearly concluded, as he said, that Zeta at that time had 27 settlements and more than 10 inhabitants.
"It is also interesting to note that the area of the municipalities of Donjo-Zetska and Mataguška was equivalent to the area of today's Zeta. Zeta, in today's borders, which are disputed by us, has an area of 15.000 hectares," adds Pejović.
There is not the slightest doubt, as he said, that these published documents should be analyzed in a possible arbitration.
"By respecting the official documents, Zeta will surely be in a better position than it is now. It is very important to note, for the sake of all citizens, especially those from Gornja Zeta, that the fight for our country is not only for the development of our municipality, but also for the protection from new pollutants. By demarcation based on official and documented facts, it will not be possible to build a collector on our territory. This will be the greatest value achieved in this process, for which we are advocating," concludes the Democrat councilor.
