The president of the Democratic People's Party, Milan Knežević, said that the former chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić, his then deputy Saša Čađenović, the former head of the ANB Dejan Peruničić and another suspect, the first officer of the ANB, would have been arrested last night "if this was a normal country". .
He said this after Mirko Paja Velimirović, a cooperating witness in the "Coup d'etat" case, in an interview with the IN4S portal, close to the Democratic Front and the authorities in Serbia, claimed that there were no weapons that were thrown into Lake Gazivode and accused Katnić and Čađenović that they rigged that trial.
Velimirović said that "he was forced to testify falsely" and that "Katnić is behind everything".
"What Paja announced yesterday is that there were no weapons, that everything was under pressure from Katnić, Čađenović and the ANB, that he was briefed by Čađenović to admit that Mandić and I were behind the protest that never happened" , said Knežević at a press conference in the Parliament.
He said that the leader of the New Serbian Democracy and head of the parliament Andrija Mandić was supposed to be at the press conference, but he was prevented. Knežević said that he was speaking in the name of Mandić, but also in the name of Mihail Čađenović.
According to Knežević, Velimirović stated last night that he was ready to testify.
"They replaced the fictitious weapon by taking on the reverse side 50 Kalashnikovs from the MUP that would have been issued by the then secretary Dragan Perović and taken over by Vladan Lazović, Zoran Lazović's nephew. Those weapons were placed in the house of Siniša Stojković, which was rented by the ANB, and it was supposed to be the crown evidence," added the DNP leader.
"After Paja Velimirović informed the public that Milivoje Katnić, Saša Čađenović and ANB are behind everything, I expect an immediate reaction from the chief special prosecutor and the supreme prosecutor. They have all the mechanisms in accordance with the Law on Prosecution and the Law on Criminal Procedure to ensure that as of today form a case and deprive Katnić and Peruničić of their freedom, and to interrogate Saša Čađenović again. Also, I call on the chief special prosecutor and the special state prosecutor to drop the lawsuit for 'coup d'état' because it was blown to pieces last night and there is no reason why they should remain silent to new evidence of the abuse of official position by Katnić and Čađenović. I will remind you of the pressure they exerted on Józef Assad together with the former ministers of justice and foreign affairs, Zoran Pažin and Srđan Darmanović, so that former CIA agent would accuse Mandić and me of being together with he and ten agents of the FBI, MI6, Mossad and some Iraqis with Slovak passports planned a coup," Knežević said.
He urged Chief Prosecutor Milorad Marković to drop the indictment today, because, as Knežević says, Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović is in a conflict of interest, "since he was the judge who determined secret surveillance measures."
"I would also like to call Suzana Mugoša to ask her if she watched the interview and if she still stands by what she said at the Committee for the Political System and Justice," Knežević said.
Lawyer Miroje Jovanović: The conclusion is that Velimirović undisputedly gave a false statement in the "coup d'état" trial.
The defense attorney for Mandić and Čađenović, lawyer Miroje Jovanović, told "Vijesta" that everything Velimirović told the portal "IN4S" the defense of the innocent defendants knew, proved and verified six years ago.
He stated that "the claims about the non-existent weapon, the non-existent Fadil and the non-existent protest were proven, not with words but with digital forensic evidence...".
"Back in February 2018, based on the analysis of base stations, the contents of telephone sets and other digital evidence, we very simply established that Velimirović lied. To make matters worse for him and his mentor duo Katnić/Čađenović at the time - Velimirović himself is in charge told the hearing very clearly that the two of them were present when he made the fake phone calls. The defense from the very beginning of the proceedings, and throughout its duration, indicated that all the orders on 'measures' issued in the matter in question were the result of a gross deception which was done by SDT and SPO", pointed out the defense attorney of Mandić and Čađenović.
Jovanović adds that on 12.10.2016 In XNUMX, investigating judge Novović, who is now the chief special prosecutor, decided on the proposal of the then SDT, and issued an oral order, and a few hours later a written order, which determined secret surveillance measures against Mirko Velimirović, who resides in Serbia and resides in Podgorica.
"The then investigating judge of the High Court in Podgorica was misled by the SPO and SDT because at the time of issuing the oral order, he could not have known that Velimirović had not rented the house, nor that the keys to the house were in the special police department and that the house was yet to be shown to Velimirović by a police officer even one hour after the order was issued. This is very clearly seen from the Initiative proposal for the determination of MTN signed by the head of SPO Dragan Radonjić, in which it is claimed that "officers of the Police Directorate came to operational knowledge that the citizen of Serbia Velimirović Mirko. .. currently resides in Podgorica, where he rented an orange-colored, two-story house with an orange facade in the neighborhood of Stari Aerodrom, at the persuasion of an unidentified person with the nickname Sinđo, in which house he should take over, store and keep until a certain moment 50 automatic rifles, with a larger amount of ammunition," he said in a statement.
According to Jovanović, the investigating judge at the time thought that Velimirović had rented a house, but in fact he did not know that the house belonged to the police and that the police had yet to show the house in question to that citizen of Serbia...
"The conclusion is that Velimirović undisputedly gave a false statement in front of the court six years ago. His subsequent statements, in whatever format they are given, have no impact on the proceedings that are still being conducted. The lies told in 2018 were exposed a long time ago and are clear to everyone."
He claims that after the new allegations, the only question is whether the prosecution will have the courage to investigate Velimirović's claims, but also to carry out a comprehensive and professional review of the actions of the prosecution and the police in the shameful process called a 'coup'." "DPS is doing everything to enter a coalition with PES"
When asked by the journalist to comment on the claims of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) that "the majority is obstructing the work of the committee for comprehensive electoral reform", Knežević replied that "he suggests to the DPS that with all possible forces, which it is doing these days, enter into a coalition with the Movement Europe now (PES) so they will also be the majority"
"They are bloodthirsty trying to slip into PES. I have never seen this kind of opposition before, and I myself was an opposition. We fought against DPS in a different way, and they decided to fight against PES in such a way that they will join the coalition so that they destroy it from the inside", said Knežević and added that they then obstruct the work of "what is left of the minority, if there is one at all".
