There must not be double standards, because every life is equally valuable, both the life of a Ukrainian child and the life of a Palestinian child, said the leader of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević.
The Coalition for the Future of Montenegro (ZBCG), of which the DNP is a part, announced that Knežević met today with activists of the Solidarity Movement with Palestine.
The announcement states that Knežević expressed deep sympathy with the unprecedented suffering of the Palestinian people and confirmed the DNP's readiness to support the Resolution on the condemnation of Israel's crimes in Palestine, which was initiated by a petition from the citizens of Montenegro.
"It is devastating that the world is silent on the terrible crimes that are happening against Palestinian civilians. There must not be double standards, because every life is equally valuable, both the life of a Ukrainian child and equally the life of a Palestinian child," Knežević pointed out.
The announcement states that the interlocutors agreed to condemn the suffering of innocent Israeli civilians at the hands of extremist organizations.
"Activists of the Solidarity Movement with Palestine announced that there is an urgent need to act in order to prevent violations of international law and crimes against Palestinian civilians. The Movement announced that it is necessary to take a firm position and show that Montenegro is on the side of law and justice, as well as demand both through domestic and international institutions, an immediate cease-fire in Palestine, as well as respect for international law," the statement reads.
ZBCG also said that the interlocutors condemned Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people and serious violations of numerous international conventions, UN resolutions, Israel's disregard for the measures of the International Court of Justice and the prevention of humanitarian aid.
"From the Movement, they reminded the deputies of their responsibility to represent the views of citizens who have been expressing them for months in various ways through public meetings, by collecting aid and donations, cultural and other activities that are organized for the purpose of aid and solidarity with the Palestinian people, and called on other deputies to support Resolution", the announcement concludes.
