The President of the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Mandić, commenting on the vote of the Bosniak Party (BS) for his dismissal and the position of the leader of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević, said that one vote is not a vote for all time.
"We want the best relations with them, one vote is not a vote for all time, and we in Montenegro want to be the best with each other. Where those differences were the greatest, it is precisely between the population that votes for New Serbian Democracy and BS. We provide hand to overcome those chasms that existed, and we expect to receive some similar messages from Bosniak politicians, although for now we do not notice that they behave like that, but repeat all those platitudes repeated by the DPS in the previous period, because they have a strong alliance with DPS. We'll see if there will be a strength in Bosniak politics to work together with politicians from the Serbian people. I'm sure the Serbs would like that," Mandic said.
Commenting on the initiative for his removal, he said that the opposition has the right to ask for verification, but ultimately democracy means the will of the majority.
"But the will of the majority has not changed compared to when we constituted the parliament, so this is a message that we can continue with everything we started with, to keep the promises related to increasing salaries, pensions, seven-hour working hours. a policy that will put the citizen first," Mandic told reporters in the parliament hall, after the vote on the initiative for his dismissal, which did not receive the necessary majority.
He said that today the opposition heard a story that referred predominantly to the past, but after August 30, 2020, political life in Montenegro will begin to function properly, where politicians can clearly communicate what their policies and programs offer to citizens.
He said that "this labeling" has been going on for a long time and that citizens can best judge whether it is just a tactic or a message to other parties from the majority "that they would be happy to replace the New Serbian Democracy and the coalition for the future of Montenegro and enter into a coalition with someone others from the parliamentary majority".
"We did a good job as a parliament, there was also the merit of the opposition, but first of all the parliamentary majority. We showed up in Brussels with those results and received great praise and firm promises about continued integration, and that's the only way we should continue to work. And this vote today is a proof of the vitality of the parliament, that there was no obstruction to prevent the deputies from declaring about the speaker of the parliament, and that I believe that soon we will have inquiry committees that will deal with those issues that have not been resolved by the judiciary. We will have control, consultative hearings, the supervisory and control function of the Assembly should be strengthened in the coming period," said Mandić.
The initiative to dismiss Mandić at today's session did not receive the support of the majority of deputies.
27 deputies voted for Mandić's dismissal, and 44 voted against.
BS MPs voted for the dismissal of Mandić.
During the discussion, Knežević said that if the BS voted for Mandić's dismissal, the DNP would be against the reconstruction of the Government in which the BS would enter.
"So God helped me. You can't play one half for Partizan and the other half for Zvezda," added Knežević.
BS President Ervin Ibrahimović replied to Knežević and said that he does not know why Knežević has such a desire to decide on the reconstruction of the Government, when he has four deputies.
"Vijesti" previously announced that the New Serbian Democracy (NSD), headed by Mandić, and the DNP are not opposed in principle to the addition of BS, which is not a signatory to the coalition agreement on government, to Milojko Spajić's government, while Democratic Montenegro expressly against it.
BS has not yet received an invitation to enter the Government, and if it comes to that, it will present its platform, it was answered earlier officially by "Vijesti" from that party after Prime Minister Milojko Spajić openly said that he wants them in the executive branch.
