This parliamentary majority, as well as the two that preceded it, from 2020 until today, tends to push Montenegro as far as possible from the European Union (EU), even though their mouths are full of talk about Europe, Miloš Nikolić, spokesman for the Democratic Party, announced today socialists (DPS).
"The most recent incident at the POSP session in Strasbourg, when all the members of the government voted against the European policy and the strategic goals of the state, showed what the ruling majority's policy really is. The fact that not a single member of the ruling party's corps was allowed to vote against the proposal that was presented by the deputy of the party Milana Knežević, which calls into question the sanctions against Russia due to the attack on Ukraine and the commitment of Montenegro to its obligations as a member of NATO, it shows that the policy of the former DF is the one followed by the parliamentary majority," said Nikolić in a statement.
He added that the consequence of such an anti-Western, pro-Russian policy, hidden behind a false advocacy for Europe, has also led to the fact that this year, citizens' support for the NATO alliance is 12 percent lower than last year.
"All these facts indicate that the dominant policy in the government is the one represented by the parties of the former Democratic Front (DF), which institutionally occupied positions in all structures. All other political subjects in the government are just decorum for this backward policy, as they showed in Strasbourg," said Nikolić.
