Montenegro, as a long-term leader in EU integration, wants to complete the process and become a full member of the European Union by 2028, said the President of the country, Jakov Milatović, during a meeting with the Quinte ambassadors to the OSCE.

Milatović introduced the ambassadors to foreign policy priorities based on the aspirations for Montenegro to become the first next member of the EU, to strengthen its credibility as a member of NATO, to further improve good-neighborly cooperation, as well as its position in multilateral frameworks, the president's cabinet announced.

He recalled the results achieved by our country in the field of the rule of law and the independence of institutions, adding that obtaining IBAR would be an additional impetus to the acceleration of our European path.

"During the meeting, the importance of OSCE support on the way to democratic maturation was highlighted, especially when it comes to electoral reform and improvement of the electoral process in Montenegro," the announcement states.
