The session of the Assembly of the Capital City will probably not be held today, because the representatives of the new club of councilors will not attend it, "Vijesti" has learned.
The source of "Vijesti" from the councilor majority said that last night at the meeting of the representatives of the constituents of the Podgorica government, no agreement was reached between the current and former councilors of the Europe Now Movement (PES). The meeting was held at the request of five councilors who recently left the PES, after the president of the state also left it Jakov Milatovic.
Head of the club of PES councilors Vasilije Carapić he said that negotiations are continuing today.
"We have a new club within the majority and this is a new reality, around this reality we need to reach an agreement to continue working. We will continue the negotiations," Čarapić told reporters after the meeting of the majority in the Assembly of the Capital City.
The councilors left PES Dragan Radovic, Dragutin Vučinić, Ranka Otašević, Jevrosima Pejović i Nađa Ljiljanić, who are close to Milatović, so the current majority in the local parliament is threatened. They submitted the initiative for the formation of a new committee club.
When asked by journalists what the demands of those councilors are, Čarapić replied that he cannot reveal other people's tickets and that journalists will get more details after today's session of the Capital City Assembly.
As reported by TV Vijesti, the former councilors of PES are demanding half of the positions that, according to the coalition agreement, belonged to PES in the capital.
Several participants in the negotiations told "Vijesti" that five councilors asked to get positions in the Appointments Committee and that they had an "agreement with the mayor". Oliver Injac. However, Injac did not appear at the meeting and the agreement was not honored, which reportedly angered former PES members in the local parliament.
Čarapić said that PES councilors will attend the plenum.
"Most councilors, as far as I know, will attend the session. As for the actual attendance at the session, I cannot determine who will come and who will not, either from the government or the opposition. I can only guarantee that the PES councilors will attend the session", said Čarapić.
Out of 58 council seats in the Assembly of the Capital City, the ruling coalition consisting of PES, parties gathered around the former Democratic Front (NSD, DNP and PzP), Democrats with United Montenegro and GP URA have 34 mandates. A majority requires at least 30 councilors.
President of Free Montenegro Vladislav Dajkovic he said after the meeting that the only thing he could say was "that DPS will certainly not return".
Official of the New Serbian Democracy Koča Đurišić he said that "there is no crisis of power" in Podgorica.
Deputy mayor of Podgorica and official of GP URA Luka Rakcevic he briefly told journalists that a "regular coalition meeting" was held.
