The President of the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Mandić congratulated Ana Brnabić on her election as the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
"I am convinced that we will work together to build the best possible and fraternal relations between Serbia and Montenegro, but also that we will make a key contribution to preserving peace and stability in the area of the Western Balkans. I use this opportunity to emphasize the readiness of the Parliament of Montenegro for the development of parliamentary, but also the overall cooperation between our two countries," said Mandić.
Deputies of the ruling majority in the Serbian Parliament yesterday elected the former Prime Minister Ana Brnabić as the President of the Serbian Parliament with 153 votes in favor and five against.
The election by public vote was carried out without the presence of the majority of the opposition, and MPs from the group "Mi glas iz naroda" and "We glas iz narod - Dr. Branimir Nestorović" voted against it.
The new President of the Assembly of Serbia should call for elections for the city government of Belgrade, which, as announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, would be held on June 2.
