The European Council made a decision on the opening of accession negotiations of the European Union (EU) with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On the occasion of the opening of the accession negotiations, congratulations were sent by several officials.

"We congratulate Bosnia and Herzegovina and wish success in the negotiation process. This is an important day for both the region and the enlargement policy, and the most important for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Montenegro stands strongly with all its neighbors on the way to our common future in the European Union," Prime Minister Milojko Spajić wrote on the social network Iks.
The chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Borjana Krišto, expressed her gratitude for the congratulations, who is scheduled to visit Montenegro next month, the Cabinet of the Prime Minister announced.

Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić congratulated BiH on the opening of accession negotiations and wished it much success in the negotiation process.
"I sincerely congratulate you on the opening of accession negotiations with the EU, confident that you will achieve significant success along the way. "Your willingness to turn to the future and join the European community of nations is a symbol of your determination to build a legacy with every step for future generations who will have their chance in the European Union," said Bečić.
He emphasized that this event represents a significant step not only for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the entire region of the Western Balkans.
"With membership in the EU, BiH will add special value to the European mosaic, and Montenegro, as a sign of good neighborly relations and friendship between our two countries, will provide it with all the necessary help and support on the way to its European integration, deeply convinced that our membership in the EU the only true path to building a fairer and more prosperous future for all our citizens. "Bosnia and Herzegovina, just like Montenegro, has a place in the European family," concluded Bečić.
