The NATO bombing with all its tragic consequences happened only because of the accumulated criminal policy of official Serbia and the state terror against the Albanian ethnic community in Kosovo by the regime of Slobodan Milošević, it was announced today from the Civic Initiative (GI) on May 21.
Yesterday marked 25 years since the start of the NATO bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY).
"On the occasion of the anniversary of the NATO bombing, the public these days had the opportunity to once again see and hear the duplicitous, misleading and revisionist statements of politicians from the ruling parties. None of them dares to speak the truth about the reasons and causes of the NATO bombing even after a quarter of a century. As a political the parrots repeat decades of Great Serbian lies and dishonorably manipulate the innocent civilian victims that occurred because of the criminal Milosevic policy that they themselves supported. The parade of hypocrisy that comes from the parties of the former DF and their relatives from the Democrats and various Vučić's remnants, including cheap ones opportunism from the PES, are only confirmation of hypocrisy and lies," the statement of GI on May 21 points out.
They added that Montenegro then avoided severe material destruction and mass casualties only because the then president Milo Đukanović and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) had previously fled from Milošević, thereby saving themselves from the Hague Tribunal and the political crucifixion that soon happened in Serbia. .
"The direct political consequence of the NATO intervention was the collapse of Milošević's violent despotism and the victory of the Serbian opposition in the elections. At the same time, Belgrade's long-term policy of terror against the Albanians led to Kosovo becoming an independent state after the NATO bombing. Everything else that the Montenegrin public hears even these days are trite Greater Serbian lies, manipulation of the uninformed and a demonstration of political and personal cowardice," reads the GI press release on May 21.
