The candidate for Montenegro's ambassador in Moscow, Miloš Radinović, has given up on the further appointment procedure in Russia.
He informed about it the leader of the Democratic People's Party (DNP), Milan Knežević, who nominated him for this position, through an open letter.
In the letter, Radinović states that he is in possession of information that his possible appointment causes "various negative observations and even misinterpretations of intentions, possibly political disagreements, given the sensitivity of the topic and the times we live in, and especially considering the degree of envy for the adoption of such solutions and from addresses that have a serious impact on Montenegro".
He said that with pleasure and gratitude for the honor he accepted the proposal of Knežević and the DNP to be a candidate for ambassador in Moscow as a non-party person.
"As the son of Cme Gora, where I was born, I spent my childhood, whose names are borne by my three children, where my family's centuries-old roots, immediate and extended relatives and the graves of my ancestors are, and considering that I finished diplomacy at the state university in Russia, where I already I have been living with my family for a long time, accepting your proposal I was guided, first of all, by the desire to help the process of normalization of Montenegrin-Russian relations within the limits of my abilities, from the position of ambassador. And at this moment, unfortunately, they are very seriously shaken. I am convinced, first of all, to the detriment of Cme Gora," said Radinović.
He adds that the impression is that the role of the ambassador in Moscow can continue to be reduced to a mere formality and "guarding the door" of the embassy, which in no way corresponds to his position in life, nor to his understanding of the work of any, and especially not the embassy of Cme Gora in Russia.
"Dear Mr. Knežević, I want to thank you once again for the best intentions, for the honor and trust shown, as well as to the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, for the recent meeting in which I had the opportunity to express my opinion on the state of Montenegrin-Russian relations in an open conversation As someone who was brought up in the spirit of love, tradition and patriotism for our Montenegro, I was convinced that my love for Russia, which I am sure I share with the majority of Montenegrin citizens, should not be an obstacle to being appointed to the position of ambassador. in Moscow. Especially at the time of broken bridges between our countries. If I am wrong in such an attitude, let everyone who will read this letter forgive me. It seems that I was mistaken: it is more of a flaw than a recommendation," reads Radinović's letter.
He wished the future ambassador successful work and all the best.
"... in the hope that he will be worthy of those centuries who built the bridge of brotherhood between our nations long before us. Because any other state than brotherly in the relations between Montenegro and Russia is unnatural and short-lived, whatever promises, "gold and diamonds "were strewn with the collective paths and directions in which we move".
"In any case, I want to assure you that in me and my family, within the limits of our possibilities, Montenegro will, as before, have its own small, modest, warm address in the Russian Federation, whose doors will always be open to every good initiative, good thoughts and deeds that come from our native bosom. With hope for better times, with the best wishes for you, your family and our Montenegro, I thank you once again and send the warmest greetings from fraternal Russia! Long live Montenegro" , concluded Radinović.
