The Government's decision to send the withdrawn decision to the Official Gazette for publication in order to introduce forced administration in the municipality of Šavnik is illegal and unconstitutional, announced the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
"In order to establish new local self-government bodies in Šavnik as soon as possible and resolve the long-lasting political crisis, the condition of all conditions is that the Government and the competent state institutions contribute to the finalization of the electoral process with a responsible approach. Therefore, we call on the Government to return to respect for the constitutional order and to withdraw the illegal Decision on the introduction of compulsory administration in the municipality of Šavnik", states DPS.
They also say that the Government, which is "unable to ensure respect for the law and conduct of elections", and which thus "knowingly runs the risk of subverting the basic principle of the rule of law", cannot talk about obtaining IBAR.
"Out of our responsibility to protect the state's position in response to the EU's decision on the fulfillment of temporary standards, we will do everything we can to prevent the IBAR from stating that this state is unable to ensure respect for the constitutional order," adds DPS.
They also said that this is no longer a question of Šavnik, nor the authorities, nor any political party, but exclusively the protection of the fundamental constitutional principle that citizens vote and be elected.
"We expect Prime Minister Spajić to justify the highest level of institutional responsibility he has and to show his readiness for an agreement, because any further destruction of the constitutional order would lead to complete anarchy, which can produce unforeseeable consequences," the statement concludes.
