President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, on the occasion of April 8 - International Roma Day, said that Roma need to be included in political processes in order to exercise their rights.
He said that the Roma community in Montenegro has been facing numerous challenges and obstacles resulting from injustice and discrimination for years.
"Roma are often marginalized and discriminated against when it comes to access to education, health care, employment and political decision-making. One of the key steps towards the full realization of these rights and elementary improvement of their living conditions is inclusion in political processes, in a way that allows them to they actively and dignifiedly fight for their own interests. This is not only a question of political participation, but also a question of justice, solidarity and equality," wrote Milatović on the social network X.
