The parliamentary club of the Citizens' Movement URA submitted to the parliamentary procedure amendments to the Law on Social and Child Protection, which proposed a 50 percent increase in child allowances, URA deputy Miloš Konatar announced.

At a press conference in the Parliament, he said that the general increase in prices in Montenegro in the last three years is the reason why they are looking for legal changes.
"In the last three years, due to rising prices, the value of children's allowances from 2021 has been quite devalued, so we propose that all amounts be increased by 50 percent," Konatar said.
As he explained, the child allowance would be increased from 30 to 45 euros, beneficiaries of material insurance would receive 66 instead of the previous 44 euros, and child beneficiaries of personal disability benefits would receive 90 instead of 60 euros.
Konatar said that this is a necessary and necessary measure, bearing in mind the continuous rise in prices in Montenegro.
He said that they proposed that these legal changes enter into force on January 1 of the following year, so that there would be enough time to plan and provide additional funds.
"The financial stability of Montenegro and the plans for this year will not be disturbed in any way," Konatar said.
