In the light of the newly created circumstances that the Municipality of Zeta will, completely unjustifiably, have to wait for the completion of the demarcation between Podgorica and Tuzi, the local self-government bodies in Zeta must not and cannot observe that process from a distance and from the side, announced today Milan Drakić, president of the Club of Councilors of Demoratska of Montenegro in the Municipal Assembly (SO) of Zeta.
"It is precisely this moment that should be used for the Assembly of the Municipality of Zeta to make a decision on the establishment of the Council for the Development and Protection of Local Self-Government of the Municipality of Zeta. The primary task of that official body would be to monitor the demarcation between the Capital City and the Municipality of Tuzi, because Zeta is an interested party in that process and it has a completely legitimate right to monitor every stage of that process. This especially refers to the demarcation between Zeta and Tuzi, which was apparently forgotten by the holder of the local executive authorities," Drakić said in a statement.
He added that precisely, in order to prevent a danger to the legitimate and legal interests of the municipality of Zeta, when it comes to the eastern part of its territory, this Council would be invited to influence the correction of the absurdity when it comes to the border between Mataguž and Vranje.
"It is only right that the border goes along the top of the hill and not the local road direction. By respecting what is a natural feature, one of the oldest churches with the associated church complex would officially be part of Zeta," said Drakić.
He said that the Council for the Development and Protection of Local Self-Government of the Municipality of Zeta, in accordance with the parliamentary decision, would deal with other issues important for the functioning of the Municipality of Zeta.
"Especially in relation to the planned construction of the collector in Botun, which is opposed by the whole of Zeta, and to the process of creating conditions for more intensive progress of our municipality, measured by the strong desire of our community that the territory of the Municipality of Zeta be determined respecting historical facts. The northern border of our municipality should be moved two kilometers to the north, compared to today's official border," concluded Drakić.
