Ćulafić: Borovinić Bojović must not react due to his political inferiority in relation to Injac

The President of the Assembly of the Capital City Jelena Borovinić Bojović must not, due to her political inferiority in relation to the Mayor of Injac, react to the fact that the Mayor did not submit the Report on her work to the Assembly within the deadline provided by law, said Stefan Ćulafić, a member of the DPS in the Assembly of the Capital City.

"We have witnessed that in recent days, the President of the Assembly, Mrs. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, has been persistently trying to impose a narrative in connection with the Report on the work of the Mayor of Injac, which was not submitted to the Assembly of the Capital City within the deadline provided by law, that the "failure is being exaggerated" and that "an administrative failure is being tried to make a political story".

It seems that the president of the Assembly of the Capital City persistently forgets that this case is at least about a political narrative, but rather a gross violation of the Law on Local Self-Government and the Statute of the Capital City. Does the President of the Assembly Borovinić Bojović think that the final benchmark in the field of the rule of law, the famous IBAR, is obtained by applauding the mayor in gross violation of the Law on Local Self-Government and the Statute of the Capital City?" asked Ćulafić in a statement sent to the media.

He goes on to point out that, as he says, this is par excellence the issue of the rule of law, because acting according to the Law and the Statute of each individual, and especially for the holders of such responsible positions, is the foundation of the rule of law, and this, he adds, is another unfulfilled promise of local rulers citizens when coming to power in the capital.

"Additionally, this is a question of the essential control role that the Assembly of the Capital City has as a representative body of citizens in relation to the mayor as an executive body. If that executive body ignores its legal obligations, it shows arrogance, ignores the Assembly and councilors, belittles the citizens who went to the polls and in this way it ultimately collapses trust in institutions, we as legally elected representatives of citizens in the Assembly of the Capital City are obliged to react.

The message it sends to citizens is that laws are not respected, they are trivialized and reduced to administrative procedures. This is the least I expected from the President of the Assembly who declares herself a legalist. I'm afraid that because of his political inferiority in relation to the mayor, Injac must not react, even though there is material evidence that the law was broken," Ćulafić believes.

The member of the DPS said that if Brovinić Bojović does not react, in a way that will show a public deviation in relation to the claims of Mayor Injac that the report was submitted on time, contrary to the claims of the Secretary of the Assembly and the employees of the Assembly, he will be fully convinced of the previous mentioned, and that the dignity and reputation of the Assembly of the Capital City has been completely destroyed.

"Nevertheless, as a professional in the primary profession, I believe that the president of the Capital City Assembly will rise above politics and prevent the collapse of trust in the institutions and protect the reputation of the Capital City Assembly and show that its citizens are really at the center," concludes Ćulafić.
