Innocent civilians who died in Murin are part of our culture of remembrance and historical memory, said Deputy Prime Minister for Political System, Justice and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica.
According to the announcement of the Government of Montenegro, he laid a wreath on behalf of the Government at the monument to the innocent victims in Murin, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of their martyrdom.
On that occasion, Koprivica attended the liturgy in the Church of Saint Petka in Murin, and the spiritual academy was also mentioned.
"Eternal glory to Miroslav Knežević (14), Olivera Maksimović (13), Julija Brudar (11), Vukić Vuletić (46), Milka Kočanović (69) and Manojlo Komatina (72). Montenegro will forever remember you, worship your graves , the innocent lives lost and will never forget you. The innocent victims in Murin are part of our culture of memory and remembrance. Sadness, because of the innocent lives lost during the NATO bombing in 1999 let's not forget what war brings, which unfortunately in our history took thousands of lives and that peace has no alternative," said Koprivica.
He said that the Government of Montenegro feels the obligation to finally and concretely help the families of the victims.
"But he also rebuilt the suffering Murino, and he is already dedicatedly working on it. This is not a gesture of materialism, it is a gesture of respect and responsibility of the state of Montenegro towards those who laid down their lives in a difficult era of war. Civilian victims will have the legal status of victims of war and socially acknowledgment of suffering, and their families the right to compensation, as well as the injured," adds Koprivica.
He said that all innocent civilians, regardless of their national and religious affiliation, will have that legal status in Montenegro, "and their families will have full support, and this is a measure of establishing a just society that can move forward."
