Enormous work and effort resulted in the fulfillment of the most important tasks, which is why I am convinced that in June, at the Inter-Governmental Conference, Montenegro will receive a Report on the Fulfillment of Interim Benchmarks (IBAR).
This was said by the Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević, at a meeting with the Irish Ambassador to Montenegro, Ragnar Almkvist.

"Since the formation of the current government, Montenegro has made a big step on the way to the European Union (EU) and has shown that it is a credible partner, fully committed to the process of European integration, it was assessed at the meeting," the Ministry of European Affairs said.
As announced by the mentioned Ministry, Gorčević informed the interlocutor about the current moment in the accession negotiations, with a special emphasis on the work and results achieved in the area of the rule of law.
She said that, in the past period, the Government's focus was on meeting the temporary benchmarks from Chapters 23 and 24.

She pointed out that, after receiving the IBAR, Montenegro expects an even more intensive period and work on temporarily closing the chapter, and added that she expects that work, in a high-quality and efficient manner, will be completed during the mandate of the current Government.
As the Ministry said, Almkvist praised the previous work and results achieved by the Government in a demanding political situation.
"We see Montenegro as a promising partner in the coming period. One of the strategic activities of Irish foreign policy is the opening of embassies in the countries of the Western Balkans, among which Montenegro could be the first in line," said Almqvist.
