The civil movement URA, as a key actor of the future government in Budva, will contribute to the improvement of the city's cultural scene with a different attitude, announced Goran Bubanja, the candidate for councilor of that party in the local elections in Budva.
"Unfortunately, Budva is facing a series of problems that significantly affect the cultural life of our city. These problems require urgent attention and the engagement of all relevant social actors in order to overcome them and ensure the richness of Budva's cultural scene. The URA, as the main actor of the future government, will undoubtedly pay considerable attention solving those problems in order to improve the cultural life of Budva," Bubanja emphasized in the announcement.
He added that the non-maintenance of the ramparts and walls of the Old Town is one of the crucial problems that require immediate reaction, conservation and protection in order to prevent the further deterioration of this most important cultural monument, which is 2.500 years old.
"It is incomprehensible that the Citadel, as the most important part of the Old Town, is in private hands, when we add to that the problem of lighting the Old Town, all this leads to a reduced number of cultural events and limits access to cultural contents for our citizens," said Bubanja.
He also notes that one of the main problems is the lack of adequate infrastructure for cultural events.
"The lack of space for performances, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural manifestations is a serious obstacle for the development of cultural life in our municipality," said Bubanja.
He also emphasizes that the financial resources allocated by the Municipality of Budva are insufficient to support cultural institutions, events and projects.
"The lack of financial support makes it difficult to maintain existing cultural programs and initiatives, as well as to launch new, innovative projects that would enrich Budva's cultural offer and restore its former glory. "The lack of coordination and cooperation between cultural institutions, local authorities, NGO organizations and civil society leads to duplicating efforts, insufficient utilization of resources and limited influence on cultural policy and practices," concluded Bubanja.
"The civil movement URA, upon coming to power in Budva, will urgently take measures to overcome these problems and ensure the prosperity of the cultural scene of our municipality. We will oblige all relevant actors, including local authorities, cultural institutions, the private sector and civil society, to act together in order to improving the situation in the field of culture. Together we can create a dynamic cultural scene that will enrich the lives of all our fellow citizens, as well as the tourist offer of our city, which will contribute to Budva's reputation as a center of cultural and artistic creativity," concluded Bubanja.
